Republican Terror

SANTA ANA, Calif. -- A California congresswoman said she was briefly denied access to a United Airlines flight last week because her name appeared on a "no fly list" set up after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Rep. Loretta Sanchez, a Democrat who has been a critic of the no-fly list, said her staff had booked her a one-way ticket from Boise, Idaho, to Cincinnati through Denver. But they were prevented from printing her boarding pass online and at an airport kiosk.
[...]
Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Jennifer Peppin said that for security reasons she couldn't confirm that the name was on the list. But she said that name mix-ups do occur.

"Generally what happens is people have a name that is very similar to someone who is on the no-fly list. It's the airlines' responsibility to do further checking,"

Shenanigans I tell you. just an example of what will happen more often. Epsecially after having been outed for stunts like this. If you think about it. They spend a lot more time bashing Democrats than they do going after terrorist. And not just during this '06 election.

IL-Gov Yes You Can Be Too Negative

When you don't have nobody to choose from you pick the lesser of the two evils. Blago' is not corrupt. His is just very extremely ethically challenged. It took a lot of doings to be the first IL Dem' Gov' in a quarter century. And Topinka, that stunt with Jack Ryan and bringing in Alan Keys will forever be around her neck. Despite the media over looking it and her choosing Jim Edgar to be her transition team head. Ya a lot of people in this state have memories longer than current news articles.

Update: Did not cap this from same noon news but, they have on CLTV too so I got a second chance. There for that one anonymous person I have something including the green party candidate. Don't look like anybody has to worry that a third party will sap many votes, eh.

A Google Bomb

What a nice little google bomb this is. When you serch for waffles, John Kerry's site is number one. Unlike searching on the word failure and getting Bush's bio. There is no why these results explaination.

IL-Gov MSI Scandal, What MSI Scandal...?

Judy Baar Topinka wants ex Gov. Jim Edgar to head up her transitional team if she is elected. Not even trying to hide the fact that if you let a republican back in the Governors mansion it will be back to full blown corruption. What player Blagojevich did, and damn him for being one, will be nothing compared to the mess republicans will make of our state.

Olbermann's Special Comment On Fear Mongers

I bet the terrorist saying "we love your choice of font style" to them right now. Download from veoh to see the whole thing.

The Lyndon Johnson campain ad. Ah no wonder everyone remembers him so fondly.

We Don't Need New Laws For Old "crimes"

I love the idea that the internet is supposed to be a children's playground. The only crap for kids on-line is crap people are trying to sell to kids.

If your a parent you have to be one. You can not defer your job to nameless faceless packets. You have to go on-line your damn self and make a list of sites you found to be safe for your youngin. And be there when they are surfin plus instill some sort of sense of right and wrong in them... oh nevermind that's just too hard. Make some laws that while you're at it. There was this site you didn't like what it said so lets just say it's unsafe for kids.

Government defends 1998 anti-porn law

The plaintiffs, technology experts and even Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy have expressed concerns that the law has already been surpassed by technology and the growth of the Internet. Kennedy noted, for example, that filters can block Web material posted offshore, but the law cannot control what foreigners post online.

It's just MTV what 18 or something like that.

A Good Ad For The GOP

New ad for the GOP'ers coming out. It will be list of things like Abramoff, war profiteers, DHS, Foley and stuff. Then the screen goes black and ka-boom ka-boom and ka-boom! Mushroom clouds are sprouting everywhere and as the clouds dissipate you see the words oversight, accountability and investigations spelled out.

GOP losses could spark partisan warfare

WASHINGTON - The White House is bracing for guerrilla warfare on the homefront politically if Republicans lose control of the House, the Senate or both — and with it, the president's ability to shape and dominate the national agenda.
[...]
"If he loses one house here, President Bush will enter the last two years very wounded," said David Gergen, a former White House adviser who served in the administrations of Presidents Nixon, Ford, Reagan and Clinton.

"He will have the capacity to say no to Democratic legislation, but he won't have the capacity to say yes to his own legislation," said Gergen, who teaches at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.

Democratic victories essentially could block Bush's remaining agenda and usher in a period of intense partisan bickering over nearly every measure to come before Congress.

Loss of either chamber also could subject his administration to endless congressional inquiries and investigations.

Must protect the power base screw the country... some more.

Sure I Did It But That Don't Make You Right For Talking About It

Candidate linked to letter lambastes foe

GARDEN GROVE, Calif. - A Republican congressional candidate whose campaign is being investigated for sending intimidating letters to Hispanic voters lashed out at his Democratic rival, saying she was fueling the uproar over the mailings.
[...]
"There has been no crime committed so why is there a criminal investigation three weeks prior to a very important election?" Nguyen asked. "What is going on? Who is fueling this investigation?"

Nguyen, a Vietnamese immigrant who has made illegal immigration a centerpiece of his campaign, said he would stay in the race despite calls from the state GOP and others to quit.

"I'm innocent," Nguyen said. "I'm not going to quit this race; I'm going to win this race."

What the hell is with republicans!?! I did it,yes but I am not guilty because of the timing of this revelation of what it is I did. Hmm why would people bring up an illegal stunt you did to influence the election just before the election. Lets all scratch our collective heads over that.

Ah,hahahahah! A very Funny Chi'Trib Story

From Chicago Tribune online. The Trib' also endorses Juby Topinka for Governor of IL. That in it's self is funny.

Liberals gone absolutely wild!

Victor Davis Hanson, a senior fellow and historian at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University: Tribune Media Services
Published October 20, 2006

Why do Republicans drive leftists so crazy these days? Liberal Democrats are beginning to sound like rowdy students on spring break, shrieking and exhibiting themselves on camera.

Consider some of the recent rabid outbursts by once sober old-guard politicians. West Virginia Sen. Jay Rockefeller insists that the world would be better off if Saddam Hussein were still running Iraq. Crotchety Congressman John Murtha of Pennsylvania rushed to announce that our Marines were guilty of killing Iraqis in "cold blood" before they were tried. Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin has compared our interrogators at Guantanamo Bay to Nazis, while Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry said our soldiers have "terrorized" Iraqi women and children.

Then there is the constant anger from Democratic ex-presidents. It used to be that out-of-office chief executives kept relatively hush. Presidents Ford and the elder Bush--both voted out of office--did not bray when President Clinton had his trials, personal and otherwise.

Not so now with Presidents Carter and Clinton. They repeatedly harp on the sins of the current administration. By now, everyone has seen clips of Clinton losing his temper (complete with finger-wagging) and lashing out at the "right-wingers" on TV. He lectures on political extremism, even as one of his wife's staff members slandered Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) by saying he broke under torture while a prisoner of war in Hanoi. And even at 82, Jimmy Carter almost daily carps over Bush's foreign policy.

Do not forget the unhinged billionaire leftist philanthropists. Ted Turner said he resented President Bush asking Americans, after Sept. 11, 2001, to take sides in our war against Islamic terrorists. George Soros claimed that Bush improved on Nazi propaganda methods.

The frustration with Bush & Co. has driven a few in the media almost to the point of clinical madness. In 2004, a clueless Dan Rather imploded by airing clearly forged memos that called into question Bush's National Guard service--with the result that he was eased out by an embarrassed CBS News. More recently, Keith Olbermann, the foaming news head on the struggling cable channel MSNBC, keeps his ratings low with uncontrollable rants about Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld pushing a "new fascism."

On college campuses, the old leftist intolerance of unwelcome free speech is back with a fury. A guest spokesman for the Minutemen immigration reform group was shouted down at a recent Columbia University lecture. Earlier, Harvard's liberal president Lawrence Summers was forced out after timidly questioning academic orthodoxy about the role of women in science and engineering.

What sends liberal criticism over the edge into pathological hysteria?

Is it that George W. Bush is a polarizing figure, not just in terms of his Iraq policy, but also because of his Christian Texan demeanor?

Or is the current left-wing savagery also a legacy of the tribal 1960s, when out-of-power protesters felt that expressions of speaking bluntly, even crudely, were at least preferable to "artificial" cultural restraint? Why should graying veterans of the barricades, then, remain "polite" when their country's less sophisticated red-state yokels are taking it in the wrong direction?

The Democrats have not elected congressional majorities in 12 years, and they've occupied the White House in only eight of the last 26 years. The left's current unruliness seems a way of scapegoating others for a more elemental frustration: that they can't gain a national majority based on their core beliefs. More entitlements, higher taxes to pay for them, gay marriage, de facto quotas in affirmative action, open borders, abortion on demand, and radical secularism--these liberal issues don't tend to resonate with most Americans.

To compensate, leftist pundits, billionaire philanthropists and politicians, from current officeholders to ex-presidents, work to ensure that isolated moments of Republican ineptness (President Bush strutting on a carrier deck in his flight suit) and wrongdoing (repulsive e-mails from a perverted congressman, Mark Foley) blare out as the only issues of the day. This distracting drumbeat, not their own agenda, is the only strategy for success in the next election.

True, reactionaries in the 1990s expressed a Neanderthal hatred of Bill Clinton. But now shouting leftists have lowered the bar. The danger, of course, is that by emulating the rhetoric of a Cindy Sheehan or Michael Moore, the feral Democrats--when they come back into power again as tamed leaders who must govern--will have created Frankensteins. And, as we know, such monsters always turn on their creators.

Dems Can't Stand Up To Repubofasists Hmm

What if they grew some?

Now that there no chance of winning a war that should never have been. And with proof that nothing has been done to keep us safe. Maybe there will be some, some what kinda signs of ball and or spine growth eh.

NRCC in Illinois

Oh my they came to Illinois several times. They are not supporting gubernatoriall candidate Judy Topinka. Tribune played it off as she was campaining down state and made it look like it was her choice.

Ok what who? Nancy Pelosi is only an evil figure in wingnuts' minds. And she ain't running for office in Illinois.

Roskam and his peeps paid for this one but just the same. What's with bringing up Teddy?

Hmm Like I Said

Gonna go after the gay folk in their ranks. But then being a gay republican is like being a bla... Anything but a white male republican. You know they don't like you but ya still hang around them. Why?

IL-Governors Race 51% Dissapproval

According to a Tribune/WGN-TV poll, have to register to see story. Nobody really likes either candidate. Lets see now

Rod Blagojevich (D)
  • Plays the game
  • Guilty by associating with people under investigating

Judy Baar Topinka (R)

If he can survive the game and people talk about what he has done for Illinois then maybe... But a lot of this is long rooted stuff that goes deep back in the years when this was a long time republican governors only but, a very blue as they say state. I think it's sad when everybody thinks it has to be business as usual. Even sadder when it seems it has to be brought to light and attached squarely on the shoulders of the Democrat Gov. right now, laugh.

Third Party Candidates

Um, I was thinking of stuff along the lines of trying to introduce bills and stuff. But maybe since they say that they're trying raise attention to issues...

A young swimming champion has injected some fun into Catalonia's election campaign that starts tomorrow by stripping naked as candidate for a new anti-nationalist party.

Albert Rivera, 26, a lawyer with no political experience, follows in the footsteps of the Italian former porn star La Cicciolina, who bared a breast in a provocative campaign to become an MEP. In pursuit of Catalan votes on 1 November, Mr Rivera appears naked on posters for his Citizens of Catalonia party. "We don't care what language you speak, or what clothes you wear. We only care about you," claims the slogan alongside a photo of the candidate, his hands crossed across his genitals.

Or maybe spend a year before elections talking about those issues. And trying to make changes and a name for yourself.

Stuff

Green

Green party and others don't do nothing but show up at election time and try to get elected. You gotta do stuff and let people know you will do even more if elected. Hell I can just sit here tapping at my computer and go write my name in on the ballot. Same difference.

I say again. The Mouse That Roard

Air America Goes Bust Again

Okay so when they came back to Chicago I didn't even know it. Great advertising eh. And what's up with all the scambo advertising spots on the station. Whatever.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Air America Radio, the liberal news and talk radio network whose on-air talent includes comedian Al Franken, on Friday filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after talks with a creditor broke down.

The network said it plans to stay on the air while it reorganizes. In a filing with the U.S. bankruptcy court in Manhattan, Air America said it lost about $40.9 million since the spring of 2004, including $13.1 million so far in 2006.

"This regrettable action became necessarily only recently when good faith efforts to resolve outstanding debt with a creditor from the company's earliest days broke down," Air America said in a statement.

Air America was launched in March 2004 with programming to counter-balance politically conservative shows by nationally syndicated hosts like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.

The New York-based company said it has 4 million listeners, and has on-air personalities including Robert Kennedy Jr. and Randi Rhodes. Air America also syndicates a radio show from television host Jerry Springer.

And are we supposed to believe Jerry Springer is... what is he doing there!?!

Shh, Wait Not Now I Think People Are Watching.

Weight

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A California-born convert to Islam could become the first American accused of treason since World War Two after he appeared in al Qaeda videos, sources familiar with the man's case said on Wednesday.

George Bush's grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany.

Donald Rumsfeld, the US defence secretary, sat on the board of a company which three years ago sold two light water nuclear reactors to North Korea - a country he now regards as part of the "axis of evil" and which has been targeted for regime change by Washington because of its efforts to build nuclear weapons.

Page Sex Don't Mean Nothing

evangelicos don't care about Foley or what the others did to cover it all up. Or even the fact that this might be just one thing amongst a lot. They believe too much in the lies about what Democrats stand for them to be any influence to anyone but republicans.

As long has they hear what they want to hear it wont matter what comes out about their party of choice. All the repubs have to do is keep this investigating it bit going until after the elections. Everyone will just get tired of it. Evangelicos are going to still get out and vote.

If torturing people until they tell you they are terrorist don't sway them. What makes people think a little sex with underlings will.

Democrats need to stop worrying about who will vote for republicans and start talking the people who would vote for them. They have to start previewing their plans. I say preview because anything they put out there during the elections will just be held up as fodder by the republicans.

Look at tax breaks for the rich. Republicans and the media can get away with saying Democrats want to bring more taxes on the middle class working families. Why not spend some time talking about that lie? A lie meant to preserve tax cuts for rich people who can easily make some of their income untaxable with investments, nevermind the cheating. There are advantages to not living paycheck to paycheck. And when the tax money ain't coming in to government the burden is shifted on to the working class. It would be nice if a series of talks were held on things like that. That would focus on the lies but not on the liars.

A Voeh or series of YouTube videos with Barak Obama (D-IL) explaining how the Estate Tax is not a death tax on working class peoples. Or explaining how social security ain't in trouble.

But no, they'll just keep playing keep up as best we can. Instead of leading.

Google Rumor Was True

And now a word from one of our many sponsors. Google buys YouTube for a huge chunk 'o change.

We are natural partners to offer a compelling media entertainment service to users, content owners and advertisers," said Eric Schmidt, Google's chief executive officer.

YouTube will continue to retain its brand, as well as all 67 employees, including co-founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year.

"I'm confident that with this partnership we'll have the flexibility and resources needed to pursue our goal of building the next-generation platform for serving media worldwide," said Hurley, YouTube's 29-year-old CEO.

While most videos posted on YouTube are homemade, the site also features volumes of copyrighted material -- a problem that has caused some critics to predict the startup eventually would be sued into oblivion, much like the once-popular music-sharing site Napster.

Okay, first NBC then the Warner deal and now the Google
buy out. Whatever it could have been it wont. I guess nobody learned nothing from the @home mess. Everybody will talk on and so so about copywright and tickelish content. And behind the scenes the these big time TV/movie folk and gonna get along with the "interwebs" people.

Well anyways enjoy some YouTube original work:

Illinois Energy Cost May Spike

These people are running ads that say we are headed for a california style energy crisis. ComEd has already claimed if they don't to raise rates they will go bankrupt. Consumers Organized for Reliable Electricity (CORE) spent 4 mil' to try and convince people here that they are not a big company, Exelon, pretending to be a concerned citizens group. Who thinks we citizens should be paying more for our electricity, or else.

Tapes Show Enron Arranged Plant Shutdown
By Timothy Egan
The New York Times

Friday 04 February 2005

EVERETT, Wash - In the midst of the California energy troubles in early 2001, when power plants were under a federal order to deliver a full output of electricity, the Enron Corporation arranged to take a plant off-line on the same day that California was hit by rolling blackouts, according to audiotapes of company traders released here on Thursday.

The tapes and memorandums were made public by a small public utility north of Seattle that is fighting Enron over a power contract. They also showed that Enron, as early as 1998, was creating artificial energy shortages and running up prices in Canada in advance of California's larger experiment with deregulation.

The tapes provide new details of market manipulation during the California energy crisis that produced blackouts and billions of dollars of surcharges to homes and businesses on the West Coast in 2000 and 2001.

In one January 2001 telephone tape of an Enron trader the public utility identified as Bill Williams and a Las Vegas energy official identified only as Rich, an agreement was made to shut down a power plant providing energy to California. The shutdown was set for an afternoon of peak energy demand.

"This is going to be a word-of-mouth kind of thing," Mr. Williams says on the tape. "We want you guys to get a little creative and come up with a reason to go down." After agreeing to take the plant down, the Nevada official questioned the reason. "O.K., so we're just coming down for some maintenance, like a forced outage type of thing?" Rich asks. "And that's cool?"

"Hopefully," Mr. Williams says, before both men laugh.

The next day, Jan. 17, 2001, as the plant was taken out of service, the State of California called a power emergency, and rolling blackouts hit up to a half-million consumers, according to daily logs of the western power grid.

So they are going shutdown power plants and drive up prices and laugh at the rolling blackouts? The Citizens utility Board, CUB breaks down their claims. I don't think they are hurting either.

PredatorGate Direction

New strategy in the Foley matter, connect Homosexuality with pedophilia. Then kick out all the gay republicans. And of course keep trying make this a Democrat vs. republican matter and keep bringing up Gerry Studds.

Crane, who tearfully apologized for his transgression, lost his bid for reelection in 1984. Studds, however, refused to apologize (even calling a press conference with the former page, in which both stated that they were consenting adults at the time of the relationship and that it was therefore not the business of others to censure them for their private relationship), and he continued to be reelected until his retirement in 1996.

This and that are different. Gerry Studds activity was not covered up. The people his constituents re-elected him. Going on about liberal conspiracies and claiming to take responsibility while accepting no blame is just nuts.

Problem is they don't care and are surprised by all the attention to this. They keep saying that sound as though an authority figure looking to have sex with his or her subordinates is just fine.

A Republican congressman knew of disgraced former representative Mark Foley's inappropriate Internet exchanges as far back as 2000 and personally confronted Foley about his communications.

Spying On The Enemy

Their enemy are anyone who is against them. And they believe they are the only ones who must rule this country. And lately they have been turning up if you're not with them you are with the terrorist rehtoric.

So don't they think they have the right to spy on the Democrats and bloggers? I bet they are doing that. It's like watergate redone but this time anything they do gets deleted from record before anyone finds out.

YuWarnGoo Video

YouTube Warner Google, YWG. Why do we need some different little media holes. lets all become one. I forgot and don't want to look up who Google video is already a part of. So anyway soon you wont be able to escape the mainstream.

(AP) Internet search leader Google Inc. is in talks to acquire the popular online video site YouTube Inc. for about $1.6 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday, citing a person familiar with the matter.

Mountain View-based Google and San Mateo-based YouTube are still at a sensitive stage in the discussion, the newspaper reported on its Web site.

The blog TechCrunch had reported on rumors of the acquisition talks. Representatives from Google and YouTube did not immediately return calls to The Associated Press.

Founded in February 2005 by three former employees of eBay Inc.'s PayPal electronic-payment unit, YouTube is surging thanks to the increased availability of high-speed Internet connections and gadgets such as camera phones and digital cameras capable of taking video. Most of YouTube offerings are short amateur clips, although professional filmmakers, television networks and even political campaigns have posted materials.

Really The FBI Lied

Citizens (blogging) for responsibilty and ethics in washington CREW, Say the FBI lied to the press.

The FBI ain't what is used to be for a long time now. CREW found that out as the FBI are trying to mold their story to what every other person involved in covering for Foley is now saying they knew what only when now, huh. I don't think Inspector Lewis Erskine works there anymore and things haven't been the same since.

Limbaugh Blames The

Should this guy be talking about the Foley matter?

Limbaugh was detained for more than three hours Monday at the airport after returning from a vacation in the Dominican Republic. Customs officials found the Viagra in his luggage but his name was not on the prescription, said Paul Miller, a spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

I am sure he was not there for underage sex. He most likely was there for the fishing.

Evidence of the sex trade is everywhere as men in shorts and sandals duck into rent-by-the-hour "love motels" with Dominican women in bright dresses.

"There is always a demand for sex," said one Dominican prostitute as she lounged at one of the town's waterfront bars. "Men will always pay for it, especially in here ... where they can get anything they want at a discount."

Indeed, the Dominican Republic is one of the biggest sex tourism destinations in the world, thanks in part to Internet sites that extol the country as a "single man's paradise."

PredatorGate

Ok if they are still blocking any real probing of things in the Foley matter... Me thinks he got lucky a few times with some of the teenage boys.

they talk why to much about emails and instant messages. He probably hit on them in those but did all the other stuff face to face.

If You Don't Think It Needs Talking About

Ok so on faux news the argument is that a pedo' should be alound to keep his seat... And Dems are making a big demogogic deal out of this thing.

Ok ok so if you frame it in a certain way then um..., No it is still a bad thing they knew about it snd did nothing because the seat was more important.

Having affairs with grown ups ain't the same as cruising for for young boys.
