Any Car You Want So Long As Its A Gas Guzzler

Bailing out the auto industry means all that clap trap about not being able to rise miles per gallons and lower prices would hurt the auto industry, was a load of crap.

So now they are all like, lets not do anything but hope somebody does something because we are not going to admit to being wrong. Um greedy

Somewhere lost in this, some guy who I think is the next president said something about rising standards of cars produced by America or some such. So sit back and enjoy the show. With one out of ten people employed by the auto industry I think something will be worked out.

What Next From Hilary

She will continue to undercut and be little Obama's chances against McCain. and McCain will do everything to undercut and be little her attempts.

Wow, this sucked eggs. But lets be fair. The republicans have nobody to run. They stand for a lot of bad things that have done a lot damage to the country that even the dimmest of bulbs can see. Like they say you can't polish the republican party.

Still crazy after all these war years. The republicans decide to hate their mothers. Just because the Democrats love theirs.

No word on whether they have added them to the terrorist watch list. Just another example of how bad it was for us to let them go for so long unchecked.

If Hilary Drops Out

First there is no dropping out now. What they are doing is giving her an out to avoid facing defeat. And the only graceful way for her to go is to apologize for all the race baiting, for the gas tax, talking in that silly twang. And let's not forget blaming Obama for being the aggressor when we all know the green man don't got what it takes to be like that. Which the MSM made note of over and over again but some how forgot when camp Clinton made the claims. If she drops pout now she doesn't have to deal with the mess she has made for herself.

If she can show that she can be a big now it would do a lot of good. As the progressive say ( actually say ) its time for the grown ups to be back in charge. She has said a lot of things just to get votes that she should be ashamed of. Her pandering really hurt her character badly. And despite an offer for Governor or Senate leader to get her to stop. First she and everyone needs to own up to what she did then begin to mend fences.

Indiana nuns lacking ID denied at poll by fellow sister

And Old Nun After Church
Originally uploaded by Adam and Mary
About 12 Indiana nuns were turned away Tuesday from a polling place by a fellow bride of Christ because they didn't have state or federal identification bearing a photograph.

Sister Julie McGuire said she was forced to turn away her fellow sisters at Saint Mary's Convent in South Bend, across the street from the University of Notre Dame, because they had been told earlier that they would need such an ID to vote.

The nuns, all in their 80s or 90s, didn't get one but came to the precinct anyway.

"One came down this morning, and she was 98, and she said, 'I don't want to go do that,'" Sister McGuire said. Some showed up with outdated passports. None of them drives.

They weren't given provisional ballots because it would be impossible to get them to a motor vehicle branch and back in the 10-day time frame allotted by the law, Sister McGuire said. "You have to remember that some of these ladies don't walk well. They're in wheelchairs or on walkers or electric carts."

Nonetheless, she said, the convent will make a "very concerted effort" to get proper identification for the nuns in time for the general election. "We're going to take from now until November to get them out and get this done. You can't do this like school kids on a bus," she said. "I wish we could."

Elsewhere across the pivotal state, voting appeared to run smoothly, despite the fears of election experts that the Supreme Court's recent refusal to strike down Indian's controversial photo identification law could cause confusion at the polls.

A voter hot line set up by the secretary of state's office had no complaints regarding photo IDs as of 3 p.m., said spokeswoman Bethany Derringer. In a primary expected to draw record numbers, most calls concerned precinct locations.

"The No. 1 call they've heard so far is just people asking where they can go to vote," Derringer said.

But a group of voting rights advocates that established a separate hot line reported receiving several calls from would-be voters who were turned away at precincts because they did not have a state or federal identification bearing a photograph.

One newly married woman said she was told she couldn't vote because her driver's license name didn't match the one on her voter registration record, said Myrna Perez of the Brennan Center Justice at New York University's law school, coordinator of the 1-866-OUR-VOTE hot line. Another woman said she was turned away from casting her first-ever ballot because she had only a college-issued ID card and an out-of-state driver's license, Perez said.

"These laws are confusing. People don't know how they're supposed to be applied," she said.

Indiana's photo ID law is the strictest in the country. The Republican-led effort was designed to combat ballot fraud, said supporters, who also have acknowledged that no case involving someone impersonating a voter at the polls has ever been prosecuted in Indiana.

The state's American Civil Liberties Union sued, calling the law a poll tax that disproportionately affected minorities and elderly voters, those most likely to lack such identification. On April 28, the Supreme Court ruled 6 to 3 that the law did not violate the Constitution.

Since then, advocacy groups have fretted that people showing up to vote in Tuesday's primary would not understand their rights under the law, which include being able to cast a provisional ballot and obtain a proper ID within 10 days so that ballot would be counted later.

Rick Rice, a precinct judge at the Charles Martin Youth Center in South Bend, said one person complained about the voter ID law when he attempted to use a federal identification that didn't have an expiration date on it.

"I didn't know who it was put out by, but we couldn't accept it," Rice said. "He had a driver's license, he was just trying to make a point. He wanted to push it and the law is very clear."

Rice said the man voted, then asked where he could write to file a complaint.

Sean Greene, of the nonpartisan electionline.org, was monitoring precincts in the Lafayette area of Tippecanoe County. "It's going pretty well," he said, despite long lines. "Most of the people I've seen today are prepared and used to this. They have their IDs out already.

That thought was echoed in South Bend, where Elizabeth Bridges, 63, said half of the people working in her voting precinct were family members, but still she showed her ID.

"I think the law is a good thing because a lot of people are crooked," she said.

John Parker III, agreed.

"I think it's a good thing because I don't want anyone coming in and voting for me," he said. "Someone could come in here and just use my name."

Pandering 101

Hello Mr and Mrs head up your ass. Economics smeconomics. There are no growing economies around the world, thanks in part to policies sending jobs overseas. And they certainly don't need oil over there in them places. That prius your driving didn't get made in these places overseas where they would have a need for oil or gas to make any of the parts and other products you regularly use. So how about lets have a gas tax holiday? And talk tough to oil producing countries for not letting us have more. Yeah those economists are all saying that there so much wrong with this idea. But hey you, Mr. and Mrs. head up your ass idiot. You know how it is with these people and all their book learning. Am I Right?

Since your really stupid and think the earth revolves around the smell from your but. You gonna love hearing us talk to you.

Funny thing though. It seems that all the desperate race baiting and feh. Now the unrealistic gonna break up OPEC stuff. And now they get it. She is just saying anything to just stay around and be in the way of things.

Speaking of demonstrating bad character. Hilary comes to Indiana and starts talking with a ridiculous twang.

They are all in on the vast dumb wing conspiracy movement. It would be nice if it was an actual attempt at something or another. But I am going to go with them just not knowing any better.
Williams argues that the two retired Generals whom he identified in particular -- Downing and McCaffrey -- voiced "harsh criticism of the Rumsfeld Pentagon and the war effort." As proof, he cites a McCaffrey quote from 2006 -- more then 3 years after we invaded Iraq -- in which McCaffrey said there was a civil war there and that "it's a very bad situation, and it's getting worse." He also said Downing was angry that we didn't use more troops for the invasion.

That is the sum and substance of Williams' response to allegations that these analysts were presented as "independent" despite having multiple political and financial ties which negated their independence. There is no indication that he has any plans to tell his viewers about the story. And he seems to think that this smug, dismissive response resolves the questions surrounding the behavior of NBC News.

Clinton, McCain Push Gas Tax Break That May Help Oil Companies

The trouble with the plan, they say, is that oil prices are rising because of low supplies

There ain't no may about it. It will help them make more money. Plus they will use this tax break to claim hard ships down the road and charge more.

Our Democratic Party

Clinton Defends Michigan Ballot Stand

As the only top tier Democrat remaining on Michigan ballot, Clinton is all but guaranteed to win the state's primary. Michigan is tentatively slated to send 156 delegates to the 2008 Democratic National Convention, but national party officials have threatened to take away those delegates if the state persists in holding its primary on Jan. 15.

"It's clear, this election they're having is not going to count for anything," Clinton said Thursday during an interview on New Hampshire Public Radio's call-in program, "The Exchange." "But I just personally did not want to set up a situation where the Republicans are going to be campaigning between now and whenever, and then after the nomination, we have to go in and repair the damage to be ready to win Michigan in 2008."

Speaking in the first primary state, Clinton said she understands concerns about her refusal. Rivals Barack Obama, John Edwards, Bill Richardson and Joe Biden took their names off Michigan's Jan. 15 primary ballot this week, and Michigan's hope for nominating clout all but evaporated.

Clinton's comment reflects an optimism she will win her party's nomination to face the Republican nominee in November 2008. She said any snub to Michigan could hurt her _ and all Democrats' _ chances to defeat the Republicans there.

Clinton was prompted by a caller who said, "It strikes me that this is politics as usual, where politicians say one thing and do something else."

Clinton brushed aside the comment.

"I did not believe it was fair to just say, 'Goodbye Michigan' and not take into account the fact we're going to have to win Michigan if we're going to be in the White House in January 2009," she said.

She is setting herself up as a winner by getting these people all angrily worked up about a re vote that wont happen. and why wont it happen. In a deep dramatic voice go, OBAMA...

Clinton said she wouldn't campaign there, but isn't about to hurt her own chances.

"If you look at the some of the states we have to win, the margins have been narrow. And it wasn't, in my view, meaningful, but I'm not going to say there's an absolute, total ignoring of the people in all these other states that won't come back to haunt us if we're not careful about it."

For those who luvs them sum Hilary. She was out of it a long time ago. Wake up and pay attention to how you are causing damage period not helping to get her elected by shanking things up.

Obama, Tony Rezco, The Clinton's

Tony Rezco a wannabe big player in IL politics. Is now by the Clinton's being made out to be a good close loving friend of Obama. Just like the IL republican party has been doing to not Obama but to our Governor as well.

Bill Clinton is the lovely spokes model of the Democratic party. Barack Obama's speech at Democratic Convention praise must have really irked him.

Hillary Clinton's Experience

Ok so she has been a U.S. Senator longer and she is older. So busy with race and gender nobody is asking that question.
