So I saw this one episode of This Old House where a city crew tapped into a gas line without shutting the gas off.
Wouldn't it make sense to move to a point in the pipe line away from the busted end piece. Then some how make a new shut off point then tap in and close?
But hey I am not a scientist or engineer and neither are those BP guys.
